AC Shadows Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of banned practices and terrifying transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana together with numerous items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
